Where you are

You already know what sound can do.

You can hold space with bowls and gongs. Maybe you lead medicine songs on the guitar chords you learned by rote. But there's a quiet feeling underneath that you aren’t musical enough, and a fear that learning theory would take the magic out.

It won’t. Theory is just a name for a sound you’ve already felt.

The path

What you’ll learn

An experiential path rooted in consciousness practices that build real skill, in your voice, your hands and your ears. You’ll hear music and know what you’re hearing, the way you look at the sky and know it’s blue.

  1. Singing with the drone

Sing in tune against a drone and feel pure intervals in the body. The overtone series and just intonation are the foundation for everything else.

  2. Modal ear training

Eight weeks, changing one note at a time, as you develop a deeper relationship with the vibrational qualities of different intervals. In the process, the game of tension and release becomes effortless to play.

  3. Rhythm as sacred geometry

Many traditionl rhythms from around the world share an underlying geometrical pattern. Our custom practice software makes it easy to explore these patterns and feel them in your body, so you can groove with confidence.

  4. Music as a healing tradition

How shamanic and traditional cultures have used music in healing, read alongside what contemporary neuroscience has to say.

  5. Your instrument, your path

You begin with a one-on-one assessment and a custom plan built for where you are.
